tasting notes
In many ways this is similar to our 2017 Mosaique in that is it again predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon. It shows different in that it is massive, dark and intense. While the usual parts of merlot and Cabernet Franc are present, Petite Verdot makes it a different wine. The high intensity means the need for cellar time of at least a few years to show its full potential. In that sense, this is really like our Cabernet more than our normal Mosaique. In the mouth it’s full bodied with ripe blackberry, cherry, vanilla and herbs. Aeration of a few hours or better yet 24 hours, shows an expansive, less grippy Mosaique. Try a bottle but it’s best to forget about this wine for about 5 years. Like 2017 Mosaique, this should prove to last a long time.
